As part of a balanced diet, 11 out of 10 doctors recommend bountiful servings of Vitamins G (ravel) and D (irt). At Velonorth, we take your health seriously which is why we are offering up the 2022 GRMB.
Those of you who were bold enough to take on the event last year will recall most of the vitamins G and D ended up all over you, your bike and probably deep in body cavities you didn’t even know you had; such were the heinous conditions. Driving rain, bitter wind and chilling cold were the order of the day, all washed down with a sublime post-race BBQ and beverage. The challenging conditions were more than offset with positive energy, warm smiles and hard riding. And we’re gonna’ do it all again this year… on dry trails under a blazing sun.
REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN for the 2022 GRMB Gravel/Mountain Bike Relay taking place Saturday, August 27th. 28km of Gravel followed by 14km of MTN bike singletrack at Grey Mountain. Ride it solo or partner up.
Starting and finishing at the Magnusson trails parking lot on Grey Mountain (2km from Alsek Rd), this event for solo riders or teams of 2, will put your full array of bicycle piloting skills to the test.
The Leg 1: The Gravel Appetizer (we like to call it the⦠grappetizer) will be an amuse-bouche of double track, proper gravel and some mild singletrack. Riders will take on the Yellow Brick Rd. climb followed by a short, fast descent on Grey Mountain Road to Rollercoaster. Yes. Rollercoaster. Probably the gnarliest sector of “gravel”, Rollercoaster will lead you to Peewee Hill. From there, we’ll connect you to Charburn Lake Rd. for some honest gravel grinding before returning up Grey Mountain Rd. to the exchange. .
The Leg 2: Mountain Main Course will take in some classic and perhaps long-forgotten Grey Mountain Originals (this is a GMO course) including B&S, Mad to the Max, Lakes Trail and others before returning to the finish.
