Gravel Growling!

In October of 2017, seven hardy souls gathered in the back parking lot of Winterlong Brewing. Bundled against the biting cold and icy rain, they threw a leg over skinny-tired steeds and rolled-out under dark skies. The Gravel Growler was born.

Originally Inspired by the classic cycling races (and tasty beers) of Belgium and Northern France, the original Growler gravelleurs were undeterred by a hard ride in tough conditions. And post-ride beers in Winterlong’s cozy, small (at the time!) tasting room were just the tonic for washing away the grit and unbuttoning tales of the day’s two-wheeled heroics.

So much has changed in 5 years! Today’s Gravel Growler lures hardy souls with the promise of a challenging course, post-ride fellowship with kindred spirits, and tasty, tasty beer.

Hmm. OK… so not much has changed. But with the help of the many riders who have shown-up to throw-down over the years we’ve gradually turned-up the awesome while maintaining our Flemish, punk-rock, DIY roots — and Gravel Growler 5.0 will continue that trend!
