Bicycles are kind of having a “moment” right now. All the local shops are booked solid for servicing, are sold out of many bikes, components, and good luck finding tubes! This is a great thing ‘cuz of course it means you’re out there on your bike.
Unfortunately, since we’re in the midst of a global pandemic, it also means that as a club we haven’t been able to put on any large group events this season. We’re sad to report that the first annual GRIM-B Road/Mtn Relay has been canceled as well as our very popular YXY Cyclocross race. We plan to bring these back next year.
It’s not all bad news though. We are still planning to host the annual Gravel Growler, September 19th, starting and finishing at Winterlong Brewing. The route will be the now (in)famous Copper Haul Road, Fish Lake, Mt. Mac single/doubletrack route with long (65km) and short (45km) course options. Registration will be online with $discounts$ for Velonorth and CMBC members. Full details will be released in the coming weeks.
The Gravel Growler is being presented in partnership with CMBC and there are some MAJOR draw prizes available for those who ride both the CMBC Royalty of the Canyon and Velonorth Gravel Growler. Sign up now for the Royalty of the Canyon and stay tuned for more info about the Gravel Growler!
